Funding for Civil Justice Starts Here
The Wyoming Foundation for Civil Justice is a state-wide nonprofit that raises funds, provides grants for legal aid organizations, and promotes resources to defend and strengthen access to civil justice. Learn more about our grant cycle.
Since 2014, the Foundation has worked closely with the Wyoming Supreme Court, Access to Justice Commission, Wyoming State Bar, and Equal Justice Wyoming.
- Currently 30-60% of civil court litigants in self-represent without an attorney
– 2026 Access to Justice Summit - Common barriers to attorney representation include:
- Low-income
- Language or cultural complexity
- Geographic distance to law firms/attorneys
- Less than $400 can secure legal representation for one Wyoming citizen
– Legal Aid Grantee Data - Donations to the Wyoming Foundation for Civil Justice go directly to multiple nonprofit legal aid organizations; money from each grant cycle is used to connect individuals with resources and legal representation every day.
